Speakers at the event included:

  • Jessica Prata, Assistant Vice President, Office of Sustainability, Columbia University
  • Sean Scollins, Assistant Vice President, Energy and Engineering, Columbia University
  • Indrajeet Viswanathan, Director, Energy Management and Sustainability, Columbia University Irving Medical Center

The event provided information about Columbia’s strategic sustainability planning process that engaged faculty, students, and administrators from across four campuses. The result of this process, Plan 2030, set bold science-based targets with goals in six impactful operational areas.

Attendees also got a behind-the-scenes look at the process the University used to study pathways toward electrifying Columbia’s central plant. This effort will transform Columbia's campus and significantly reduce the University's Scope 1 emissions.
