EARTH WEEK SCHEDULE
Date: April 12, 2007

April 22 will mark the 38th celebration of Earth Day. This event was conceived by its founders – including Columbia University trustee and Barnard '59 alumna Marilyn Laurie – as a grassroots demonstration of support and concern for the environment.

Especially on campuses across the country, Earth Day activity has swelled into Earth Week, with thousands of participants taking time to educate themselves on the increasingly complex issues of sustainability and figure out their personal responsibilities and contributions to a sustainable universe.

Here at Columbia, the following schedule lists Earth Week activities sponsored by EarthCo on the Morningside and Barnard campuses, by the Students for Environmental Action at the Mailman School of Public Health and the College of Physicians and Surgeons on the CUMC campus, The Earth Institute at Columbia University, SIPA, SEAS, and environmental science departments at Barnard and Columbia Colleges.
