Reducing our Paper Consumption

Over a year ago, The Mailman School of Public Health began a pilot project to reduce the amount of print paper used on campus. After the first successful year of planning, the school has now advanced the pilot into a certification program.  Green champions have been selected for each department to lead their teams toward achieving items from a certification checklist. Once a team completes a certain number of actions from the checklist, they will become certified at a bronze, silver, gold or platinum rating, respectively.  The group has created a website with tools and resources for participating departments.

With the average office worker using 10,000 sheets of copy paper each year, this initiative will hopefully continue to bring more awareness to consumption and usage behaviors.
